Frequently asked Questions
Artworks and graphics
1. What file types are recommended for artwork uploads?
The following file types are recommended for artwork uploads:
EPS (Encapsulated Postscript)
AI (Adobe Illustrator)
PDF (Adobe Reader PDF)
PSD (Adobe Photoshop)
JPEG (High Resolution JPEG)
TIFF (High Resolution TIFF)
These file types are all vector or raster files with high resolutions that will produce high-quality prints.
Vector files are made up of lines and curves that can be scaled to any size without losing quality. This makes them ideal for artwork that will be used for large prints.
Raster files are made up of pixels. This means that they can lose quality when they are scaled up, but they are still a good option for artwork that will be used for smaller prints.
- Here are some additional points to consider while uploading artwork:
Convert all fonts to outlines or curves before sending the file. This will ensure that the fonts will be displayed correctly on the print.
Set the size of the proof in proportion to the exact size of the custom banner's order. This will help us to ensure that the artwork will fit the banner correctly.
There's no need to include bleeds in the proof, unless it is a part of the graphic. Bleeds are areas of the artwork that extend beyond the edge of the banner. They are used to allow for any slight variations in the printing process.
All text should be at least two inches from the edge of the banner's grommets. This will ensure that the text is not obscured by the grommets.
If you have any questions about uploading artwork, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to help you ensure that your artwork is uploaded correctly and that you receive the best possible print quality.
- Here are some additional tips for uploading artwork:
Use a high-resolution file. The higher the resolution, the better the quality of the print will be.
Use a vector file if possible. Vector files are scalable to any size without losing quality, so they are ideal for large prints.
Check the color profile of your file. Make sure that the color profile of your file matches the color profile of the printer we will be using.
Save your file as a PDF or PNG. These file formats are supported by most printers.
Test print your artwork before submitting it. This will help you to ensure that the artwork looks correct and that it will fit the banner correctly.
2. How many colors can each banner or a tent include?
CustomTentCo does not have a color limit on its custom banners and tents, allowing you to choose as many photos or graphics as you want on your displays.
3. Can CustomTentCo print on both sides of the tent walls?
Yes, we can print on both sides of the tent walls. This is called double-sided printing, and it is a great way to ensure that your message is seen by everyone, no matter which side of the tent they are on.
Double-sided printing is available for all of our tents, including pop-up tents, frame tents, and inflatable tents. We use high-quality inks and printers to ensure that your prints are clear, vibrant, and durable.
- Here are some of the things to keep in mind when considering double-sided printing for your tent:
The size of your tent will affect the cost of double-sided printing.
The type of tent you choose will also affect the cost of double-sided printing.
The complexity of your design will also affect the cost of double-sided printing.
4. Do you print height by width (H x W) or width by height (W x H) at CustomTentCo?
At CustomTentCo, we print width by height (W x H). This is the standard way of measuring dimensions in the printing industry. When you select a size on our website, width is always the first dimension, not height. This is to ensure that your artwork is printed correctly.
For example, if you order a 5x3 tent, the dimensions of the tent will be 5 feet wide and 3 feet tall. It is important to make sure that your artwork is sized accordingly. If your artwork is sized in height by width (H x W), you will need to flip the dimensions when you upload it to our website.
We recommend that you use a vector file for your artwork. Vector files are scalable, so they can be resized without losing quality. This is important for ensuring that your artwork prints correctly at the size you have selected.
5.Once my artwork has been approved, can I make any changes to it?
Once your artwork has been approved, it will go straight to production. At this point, no changes can be made. This is because the artwork is already being processed and the printing process has already begun.
If you need to make any changes to your artwork, you will need to contact us before it is approved. We will be happy to make the changes for you and send you a new proof for approval.
Here are some additional things to keep in mind:
If you make any changes to your artwork after it has been approved, you may incur additional charges.
The sooner you contact us about making changes, the more likely we are able to accommodate your request.
If you are unsure whether or not you can make changes to your artwork, please contact us and we will be happy to help you.

If you make any changes to the proof, we will send you a new proof for approval.
We will not start production on your custom tent until you have approved the final proof.
7. What if the colors on my custom tent don't come out the way I expected?
We understand that sometimes the colors on a custom tent may not come out exactly the way you expected. This can be due to a number of factors, including the differences in how screens display colors, the quality of the artwork, and the printing process itself.
In most cases, the colors on your custom tent will be very close to what you see on the proof. However, there are always some slight variations that can occur. If you are concerned about the colors on your custom tent, we recommend that you provide us with a Pantone + Color Bridge Coated swatch. This will give us a more accurate representation of the colors you want.
If the colors on your custom tent are significantly different from what you expected, we will work with you to try to resolve the issue. However, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to match the colors perfectly. In some cases, we may be able to offer you a refund or a replacement tent.
Here are some additional things to keep in mind:
- We cannot be held responsible for slight variations in color.
- We recommend providing a Pantone + Color Bridge Coated swatch to ensure the most accurate color matching.
- We will work with you to resolve any color issues to the best of our ability.
8. What does it mean when I see the message "Instant preview for this file type not available" when I upload my artwork?
This message means that our system is not able to generate an instant preview of your artwork because the file type is not supported. However, we will still review your artwork for size and quality (resolution) before sending it to production. If the file is not good for printing, we will contact you. If you request a proof, you will receive an email proof within 24 hours. We will only process your order after you review and approve the proof.
Here are some file types that are not supported for instant preview:
PDF, DOC, DOCX, EPS, CDR, AI, PSD, TIF, TIFF, PPT, BMP, SVG
If you upload a file in one of these file types, you will see the message "Instant preview for this file type not available". However, your artwork will still be reviewed and you will receive a proof if you request one.
9. What printer resolution do you use for printing custom tents?
We use a variety of printer resolutions for printing custom tents, starting from 135 dpi to 180 dpi. The specific resolution that we use will depend on the size and complexity of the artwork, as well as the desired outcome.
10. What printing technology do you use for custom printed tents?
Dye-sublimation printing: Dye-sublimation printing is a process that uses heat to transfer dye from a ribbon to a fabric. Dye-sublimation printing is ideal for tents that will be used indoors, as the prints are not as durable as solvent or UV prints.

The Pantone Color Matching System (PMS) is a standardized color reproduction system. Providing us with your PMS colors is the best way to ensure color accuracy. If you're unsure what PMS fits your company/brand, use this online Pantone Color Selector to quickly find and select accurate colors. Sharing the exact PMS code with TentCraft will help our art team color-match for your product.
If Pantone colors are not provided, we will do our best to print colors accurately, but without a match-print or Pantone color to compare to, there will be some level of variance and subjectivity. We highly encourage you to provide us with a match-print or Pantone colors in order to avoid costly reprints.
